This is an excellent, rich, complex movie that explores a few main themes from several different perspectives and two different decades. The story revolves around a 40-year old murder mystery in a border town between Texas and Mexico. The movie examines hostility and friendships between Mexicans and Americans, and the complexities of living along any kind of border. Best film of 1996, in my book.
